Gommern Facility

The Gommern facility is the operational heart of our technology: here research, development, planning and production go hand in hand.

This close integration allows us to feed research findings directly into manufacturing and validate our high quality standards directly on the product. This production facility is thus far more than just a manufacturing site – it is the fully functional base on which we demonstrate the technological maturity of the Multi-U-Tube Probe every day.

On-site visits: In a trusted setting, we invite specialist partners and interested parties to visit the facility in Gommern. We are happy to demonstrate the direct path from innovation to finished MU probe through our specialised manufacturing.

The Company

About BLZ Geotechnik GmbH and Dr. Rolf Wagner

The efficient use of renewable geothermal energy is the central driver behind the development of the Multi-U-Tube Probe. This is what blzGEOtherm stands for today as the sole focus of BLZ Geotechnik GmbH. What began in 2000 with pioneering work on phase-change probes and was already recognised in 2004 with the Hugo Junkers Innovation Award forms our technological foundation today.

Since 2018, Dr. Rolf Wagner has dedicated himself exclusively to the development and perfection of the MU probe. This consistent focus on the goal of maximising heat energy extraction has, after years of intensive work, produced this high-performance probe. The drive has not changed since 2013: this vision was to be consistently transformed into a market-ready, highly efficient product.

Transflow GmbH — Simulation on Request

Standard BHE planning tools do not support the MU probe — it is not included in any standard software. As planning partner, Transflow GmbH (Freiberg) handles the simulation: with ModThermWg, a numerical finite-difference programme that fully models the MU probe and provides EED-compliant documentation for approval procedures.

What ModThermWg Can Do

  • Time-dependent temperature and performance calculation — not just steady-state design
  • Single probes and probe fields of any size
  • 3D simulation of thermal interactions via ModGeo3D
  • EED-compliant documentation for approval procedures
  • Long-term forecasts: 25-/50-/100-year runs
  • Comparative simulation MU probe vs. double-U on request

Benefits for Planning Offices

  • Reliable design basis without own software procurement
  • Documented evidence for authorities instead of estimates
  • Project-specific simulation based on individual site parameters
  • Partner service arranged directly through BLZ Geotechnik
